Turf Builder Starter Food is a 24-25-4 formula made for new grass. The 25% phosphate fuels root development from Day 1, whether you're starting from seed, sod, sprigs, or plugs. Strong roots are what every new lawn is built on.

Apply Starter Food at planting, then again at 2–4 weeks. The second application sustains nutrition while roots and blades build for stronger establishment. After Week 8, switch to Lawn Food every 6–8 weeks for ongoing maintenance.

® Turf Builder® Starter® Food for New Grass is designed to be used when planting seed, growing new grass 70% thicker and 35% quicker (on average vs. unfed lawns). Crafted with the exclusive ® All-in-One Particles® technology, this formula blends the ideal ratio of nutrients into each individual particle. Use anytime you are planting new grass, whether it is starting a new lawn, reseeding an existing one, or installing sod, sprigs, or grass plugs. ® Turf Builder® Starter® Food for New Grass is safe to use on any grass type. It can be applied immediately before or after planting grass. We recommend using a ® spreader to apply this product. For ® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 ¼. For ® drop spreaders, use a setting of 6. Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 42 lb. bag of ® Turf Builder® Starter® Food for New Grass covers 14,000 sq. ft.
